2008 KØS Strange Antenna Challenge^SM Special Event Atlanta Satellite Station

Welcome to the 2nd annual Atlanta area KØS Special Event satellite station and cookout page.

 

The KØS Strange Antenna Challenge ^SM was originally organized in 2003 by Erik Weaver, n0ew and Dwayne Walker, wb5plj for the purpose of assembling and utilizing make shift antennas from anything but wire, pipe, or tubing. See Erik and Dwayne's 2008 KØS page.

In 2007 a group of hams in the Atlanta area led by Arnold, KC4ZUA and Bill, KB4KFT organized a KØS satellite operating event to experiment with how effective various household items can be when put to off label use as antennas. The results can be quite surprising. The 2008 KØS satellite event and cookout (building strange antennas can work up ones appetitie) event was graciously hosted at the QTH of Ron, KI4WLT and his wife Sheila, no call yet, in Stone Mountian, GA.
