Welcome, please take a few
moments to review the Meter Mate software utility features. Some watt meters will measure forward or
reflected power but not provide the user with an antenna system SWR value
without having to compute it based on the forward and reflected power
readings. For accurate results this requires having two meters in line,
one for high forward power readings, and the other for lower reflected
power readings, or having to remove and replace meter elements to take
separate forward and reflected power readings.
Meter Mate Program Screen Shots
Meter Mate is a companion utility for your
directional watt meter that allows you to calculate the SWR reading when the forward and reflected
power readings are measured. In addition to calculating the antenna system SWR Meter Mate will
also plot the SWR curves of all of your antennas onto graphs that may be
printed out. The hard copy printed SWR curve graphs may be referred to as a baseline during
future antenna system maintenance.
Meter Mate is a software utility for the ham shack that calculates SWR and
creates SWR curve graphs for antenna systems operating within the amateur radio
bands. The printed SWR graphs can aid in antenna system maintenance by providing
a hard copy of an antenna system's baseline SWR curve.
Meter Mate is
designed to emulate a watt meter that utilizes meter elements to measure forward
and reflected power in an Amateur Radio antenna system.
A meter element
storage case may be opened so meter elements can be dragged and dropped into the
meter sockets configuring Meter Mate for power and SWR measurements based on the
meter elements selected.
Forward power
readings are displayed on the left side of the window.
Reflected power
readings are displayed on the right side of the window.
When the forward and
reflected power values are adjusted by the user the forward and reflected power
meter needles deflect illustrating the respective power readings and the antenna system SWR is
calculated then displayed in the
center of the Meter Mate window.
An antenna system and
Amateur Radio band of operation may be selected allowing an SWR Curve Graph to be created to
aid in visualizing the SWR curve of the selected antenna system.
When forward power and
SWR are known, the forward power level may be adjusted to match the known forward
power, then the reflected power level may be adjusted until the SWR display reads
the known SWR value. This will yield the reflected power level which will be
indicated on the Meter Mate reflected power meter face.
Key Benefits:
Simple creation and printout
of SWR curve graphs.
Simple determination of
antenna system SWR.
Graphs are labeled with date,
antenna info, and band.
Works with many types of
power/SWR meters.
Inexpensive software
registration.

Q: Will
Meter Mate function on non English
versions of Windows? A: This is a case by case issue.
If decimal numbers are expressed the same way English numbers are expressed
with a period like ###.### for 123.456 then it may function as expected. If
a non English version of Windows expresses decimal numbers with a comma
like ###,### for 123.456 then it most likely will not function properly.
If this issue is encountered it cannot be
corrected since I only have English versions of the OS to
write and test software on.
-
Q: Does
Meter Mate have a trial period? A:
Yes, Meter Mate is fully functional while
unregistered for a maximum of 5 uses. After 5 uses Meter Mate
requires registration. Meter Mate also has a 10 minute session limit
during the trial period.
-
Q: Does
Meter Mate require registration?
A: Yes,
Meter Mate requires registration. A nominal
registration fee of $9.45 US is charged for Meter Mate registration.
-
Q: What is included with the registration fee?
A: The registration fee entitles registered users of
Meter Mate to obtain future Meter Mate product updates at no additional
charge. In addition companion utilities will become available in the near
future. These companion utilities will function when a registered KD4UDY
software product is installed on the users system.
-
Q: Does
Meter Mate include a help file?
A:
Yes,
Meter Mate comes
with
a comprehensive help file that describes each function in detail. A quick
reference sheet may be printed from the help file that explains step-by-step
how to create an antenna system for comparison calculations.
-
Q: Do I need to download the VB
6.0 Runtime Files? A: Search on your
system for the file named MSVBVM60.DLL. If the file is there then check the
date it should be dated Saturday, August 18, 2001, 8:00:00 AM. If it is
dated 08/18/2001 or later then your
system should be ready if the file is not there or has an earlier date then
it is recommended that you download and install the VB
60 Runtime Files.
